About these briefings

Operating questions ask voters to let a district exceed its state revenue limit, either for a set number of years (non-recurring) or permanently (recurring). Borrowing questions ask to issue bonds, usually for buildings, repaid through the property-tax levy. $802.2M in borrowing is on the ballot statewide.

Ballot wording comes from sample ballots, county clerk and newspaper legal notices, and district websites, as published by October 6, 2026. Where a question had not yet been published, the card says so and shows the text the district filed with the Department of Public Instruction.

Each briefing compares the district with its regional peers and with the median Wisconsin district. Briefings for districts that ran a School Perceptions survey also report those results.
